INTRODUCTION OF OUR CURRENT MAIN PROJECT

CONTEXT

The issue of technology in schools has grown considerably since the health crisis as well as the concern of teachers to ensure educational continuity. This has enabled a rapid evolution of educational technologies, telecommunications and internet network development throughout the world, in creating a more interactive learning environment and facilitating distance communication between the learner and the teacher.

This educational alternative also offers opportunities to Haiti, which today faces a situation of serious insecurity that not only limits the movement of teachers and students, but also causes the massive exodus to foreign countries of many profesionnals, and especially teachers. The lack of qualified teachers has become another sad reality in Haiti and a major challenge to overcome.

This situation has not spared the Sainte Rose de Lima institution which wishes, like so many other schools, to take advantage of the advantages offered by technology to continue offering young Haitians access to quality education.

THE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF THE PROJECT

The project includes three components:

• Laying out and equipping two rooms in the reception building at the entrance to the Sainte Rose de Lima school
• Development of a program for students which will be integrated into the entire educational project of the school to overcome the problem of lack of teachers, to include seminars and extra-curricular training, etc. (Note: alumni of Ste Rose could volunteer to offer some of these courses remotely)
• Development of a professional school program (Language school, and/or secretarial and administrative education; and/or Caregiver and nursing, etc.)
